The SATELLIT is a guest site where diverse people, ideas and stories can gather.

Together with the neighbourhood, with artists and creatives, we want to meet the social and climatic challenges of our time locally, self-organized and with artistic means. How can we make life in the big city, in Friedrichshain-West, in Barnimkiet even better and more solidary?

The SATELLIT is multifunctional as an exhibition, workshop, kitchen and food room with a terrace and a view of the neighbourhood and the Volkspark Friedrichshain. It is an open-plan event space for various artistic and practical projects, in which it is connected and alive, which mostly remains institutionally separate.

We want to make history, local knowledge and the appropriate dishes visible, learn new things in lectures and workshops and question the old. The location is to build a network that combines various artistic ways and researches and allows or favours collaborative collaborations, but can also offer a free side and succession. The rooms are to be filled together and spread to a mushroom mycel. A model network for a future artistic do it together!

The SATELLIT developed from the work of the Mitkunstzentrale, which has been part of the House of Materialisation since 2019, a centre for climate-friendly use of resources in the House of Statistics on Alexanderplatz.
