Sound Matters (or: What to do with the money?)

Errant Bodies (founded in 2010) has been dedicated to experimental work in sound, including other media, and in different practices, like installation, performance, radio art and art in public space.

Through events and exhibitions but also lectures, residencies and workshops, the project space emphasizes an engagement with process and dialogue, encouraging a dynamic and diverse approach to the sound arts. Since 2013 the space is managed and developed through a working group comprised of artists, researchers and writers focusing on sonic research and sound practices, developing an experimental program of presentations, event series and exhibitions. Errant Bodies also intends to foster social and political activities, contributing to the creative scene in Berlin and its artistic communities. In this first collective exhibition since being awarded the 'Projektraumpreis' of the Berlin Senate 2016, the group members show works centering around sound matters and sound materialism, hereby also reflecting upon the way in which economic issues may arrest or fire the free imagination of the project space ethos.
